Note: This site is mostly a fan site for the Barney Miller tv show, but there are some excellent fan sites for the individual Barney Miller actors (some of which are listed here) that  provide a lot of good information, photos, etc., on your favorite Barney Miller stars. Hal Linden (born Harold Lipshitz on March 20, 1931) has been doing various guest appearances, and performing his singing act. In 1984, Hal carried the Olympic Torch and ran a portion of the Los Angeles segment. Most recently (2006), he has appeared in commercials for a Medical Insurance company, and in 2007, played the part of Captain Jerry Kramer on "The Bold & the Beautiful". Abe Vigoda (born on February 24, 1921, in New York City), recently (2005) appeared on TV Land's Third Annual Classiv Tv Awards.  Abe has quite a following. Click here for Abe's bio on IMDB.
Max Gail, Jr. (born April 5, 1943, in Detroit, Michigan) most recently stars as "Grandpa Jack" in The Tillamook Treasure, a recently completed film that follows the adventures of a 14-year old girl and her search for pirates' treasure.  For more info on the film go to www.tillmooktreasure.com  He also played Wendal Halbert in the ABC series: Sons & Daughters
Max runs his own production company,
Full Circle, which has done documentaries on such things as Agent Orange, Native Americans, and nuclear issues.  After his first wife's death from cancer in 1986, Max stayed home to raise his daughter, India(B. 1984). With his second wife, Nan, they have two children - Max (b. 1990) and Grace (b. 1993). They also have raised Nan's nephew, Delondon (b. 1979). Max played  in Celebrities Uncensored, playing "Himself" (archive footage) (episode # 2.3) 25 February 2004, and in The Drew Carey Show, playing "Les" in episode: Hotel Drew (episode # 7.12) 12 December 2001. In 2006, Max was Grandpa Jack Kimball in the film Tillamook Treasure.
Jack Soo (born Goro Suzuki in 1916; died on January 1979) played many roles prior to his stint on Barney Miller, including film roles in Flower Drum Song (1961), The Green Berets (1968) and "Mr. Yokomoto" in Return From Witch Mountain (1978).     
Ron Glass (born on July 10, 1945 in Evansville, Indiana), provided the voice for the character of Randy Carmichael on Rugrats, as Shepherd Book in the series Firefly, and has a big role in the new Samuel L. Jackson movie Lakeview Terrace.
Steve Landesberg (born on November 23, 1945 in New York City), is currently playing the part of a pediatrician in the movie Forgetting Sarah Marshall. He also plays Dr. Myron Finkelstein on the STARZ series: Head Case.
In addition to his career in stand-up & commercials, Landesberg played the role of Barry Kirkbride in the tv show: Twice in a Lifetime, the Prosecutor in the film A Lousy Ten Grand (2004), and a bit role in Wild Hogs (2007), in addition to numerous comedy appearances on HBO, etc. A complete list of credits can be found here, courtesy of IMDB.
Ron Carey (born December 11, 1935; died January 19, 2007) in Newark, New  Jersey), played the role of Robert Lambert in Killer per  Caso(1997), and as a businessman in the 1999 film: Food for Thought. He passed away on January 19, 2007, of a stroke. Click here for his obituary, with more info.
Gregory Sierra (born on January 25, ??) in New York City), played the role of Charlie (a.k.a. "Final Act" in the 1999 film Vic, and a bit part in the 1999 film Blood Money.n 1992, Sierra played drug dealer Felix Barbossa in the Bill Duke-directed Deep Cover, which also starred Laurence Fishburne and Jeff Goldblum. He also played a man named Villanazul in the low-budget 1998 movie The Wonderful Ice Cream Suit. He also appeared in the Star Trek: Deep Space Nine episode "Second Skin".
Barbara Barrie (born on May 23, 1931 in Chicago, Illinois) played Nana on the hit show Suddenly Susan. Most recently she played Ruth in Fathers & Sons (2004) and Dorothea in Second Best (2004).  Barrie is the author of two critically acclaimed novels for young adults: Lone Star (1989) and Adam Zigzag (1995).
James Gregory (born on December 23,  1911 in the Bronx New York) played Inspector Frank Luger.  He was a character actor in films and on television, from 1956-83.  He died on September 16, 2002, of natural causes; he was 90.
Linda Lavin (born on October 15, 1937 in Portland, Maine), played Ruth Steiner in the TV Movie, Collected Stories (2002),Carol Burnett's play, "Hollywood Arms" in 2002, and nost recently in The New Century, a stage play by Paul Rudnick, 2008.
George Murdock (also credited as: Eric Rush; born June 25, 1930), is very active; among his most recent roles are "Arthur Allen" in episode: "Enigma" on an episode of The Dead Zone; Walt, in To Kill a Mocumentary (2005), and as Detective Ray Berro in Serial Killing 4 Dummys (2004). Other roles: "God" (Human) in Star Trek V: The Final Frontier and appearances in  Star Trek: The Next Generation episodes: "The Best of Both Worlds, Part I and Part II, as Admiral J.P. Hanson, who dies in the battle with the Borg.  He also played Dr. Salik on the original Battlestar Galactica, and was one of several Star Trek stars to appear in the 1992 television movie: Grand Tour: Disaster in Time.
