The Healthwise Foodie Girl is Lorna Rodriguez-Wong, who works at the 7th Street Montara Restaurant, doing what she loves best. Her cooking & baking started out when she was a child. As she writes in her blog:

"I've always had a passion for baking. I remember being a latchkey kid, the eldest of three, learning how to cook. Maybe, I started around 12 years old. There was the available store packages of cake or frosting mixes, Bisquick and on to the Betty Crocker book. I made that coconut crumble cake from the back of the Bisquick box.  I found how to make pancakes from Betty Crocker when there was no Bisquick. Oh yes, then there was Julia Child on KQED. I remember the show was first televised in black and white. Julia made it look like fun."

Such enjoyment of baking is backed up by years of experimentation with flavors, learning the skills to combine ingredients in a complimentary way.

Though Lorna's profession is a Project Management Professional and Consultant for an environmental firm, she has always spent a great deal of time in the kitchen, baking for  parties, events and fundraisers.  The sumptuous desserts this Foodie Girl contributed prompted many to comment that she had missed her calling - that she should bake professionally.

These days, Lorna takes extra care in purchasing the components for her baked goods, and nothing but the best will do.   When you buy delectible treats from the Healthwise Foodie Girl, you are assured that you are enjoying delicious desserts made with the freshest and highest-quality ingredients.
