TRIBUTE FOR ARLO HAGLER                    10/12/02
It was the perfect way to honor Arlo, for all that he meant to us, for all that he accomplished, for the love and care that he gave to his friends, family, community, and planet.  I only wish that our camera settings had been better in some instances....I wasn't paying attention, I guess.  My mind wandered a lot. We took some shots at my mom's place in Garberville, before going to the Mateel Community Center in Redway.  At Mom's, we all put on t-shirts and other items that were Arlo's (I wore Arlo's  red "Reggae on the River" t-shirt, his KMUD camoflauge cap, and a "Pignic" tag, with a "Reggae on the River" wristband).  At the Mateel Community Center, I saw so many of Arlo's friends (who are family), and our "blood kin" there, weeping, laughing, remembering.  I saw family members that I had not seen in decades, and was reminded of how much I love them, made aware that love is not reliant upon how often you see someone....or whether they are still in this life, or the next.  In the photos, I initially wanted to put names to the faces of  everyone in the photos, but gave that up after awhile, because of time constraints.  That's o.k. - YOU ALL KNOW WHO YOU ARE!
